This course used to be called Signal Processing in Acoustics and starts somewhere around where the IPC ends. It is somewhat of a complement to ANC, so it makes total sense to do both. One half of it is dedicated to acoustic measurement systems and explain how they are measuring what they are measuring and why the results are what they are. The other half is more towards audio, i.e. reading signals, manipulating them (for example, changing the pitch) and playing them back. In the final assignment, the students implement their own VST plugin that may be imported into any commercial digital audio work station.
The course spans the fall and the winter terms. There is one lecture and one exercise per week. The lectures will cover the theory, the exercises will be all in Matlab. Grading will be based on individual Matlab home assignments some of which might be accompanied by a short report.
