Introduction to Sound and Vibration
Ljud och vibrationer, introduktionskurs
For the inexperienced, it is generally easy to do severe design mistakes resulting in noise and vibration problems in environments, buildings, vehicles and other products. The cost for applying noise and/or vibration reducing treatments afterwards is often very high. However, with a general knowledge in acoustics and specific knowledge of important phenomena it is fairly easy to avoid most of the latent mistakes. The course Introduction to Sound and Vibration aims at providing you with this knowledge.

Course materials |
The course starts from the fundamentals of phenomena in sound and vibration and ends with more advanced applications of the theory and models for specific problems. The course has a strong focus on the underlying physics of the phenomena, theories, and models in sound and vibrations.
The course is given in cooperation with external teachers working as sound and vibration consultants in the vehicle and building industry. The cooperation assures that the course has a strong connection to the problems and applications treated in the industry. The external teachers hold lectures covering their field of specialisation.
See Chalmers Studieportal for more details.
